Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) ribeye steak
  • 1 shot whiskey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Killer Hogs Steak Rub

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the whiskey, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper. Pour half of the mixture into a separate container and reserve.
  2. Place the ribeye in a zip-top bag and pour the remaining whiskey mixture over the steak. Press out as much air as possible, seal the bag, and marinate for 20 minutes.
  3. Prepare a grill for direct searing using lump charcoal.
  4. Remove the ribeye from the marinade and drain any excess moisture. Season all sides with Killer Hogs Steak Rub.
  5. Place the steak on the grill and sear for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes.
  6. During the last couple of minutes of cooking, brush the steak with the reserved whiskey sauce.
  7. Remove the steak from the grill when the internal temperature reaches 125 to 130°F for medium-rare.
